Meet the Coaches: Karen Henfrey & Jean Christy (Associate)

Chrysalis Parental Coaching is run by Karen Henfrey.  She has a wealth of experience in parenting skills and child development.  Chrysalis are there to support parents across the years, from baby to toddler, from youngster to teenager.  Karen offers a sympathetic sounding board and ongoing support for parents.

Karen Henfrey – Dip Lit,PGCE,TDLB,NNEB

Karen has years of experience working with families in both voluntary, educational, youth and health services.  This has given her a real understanding of family dynamics and challenging parental issues we all face in this fast-moving, ever-changing world.  Karen helps parents understand their issues and together, to develop ways to unlock and improve the situation. 

Karen has a Diploma in Family Emotional Literacy and an Award Winning Surrey Family Learning Skills Tutor.  Karen is currently training with the National Academy of Parenting Practitioners and is an accredited facilitator for the Family Links Programme.

Karen other roles are as a tutor and accredited facilitator for ‘Tamba’, and a Parent Educator for the ‘Care for the Family’ - Substance Misuse Programme. Karen works as a parenting coach with the Richmond Upon Thames Adolescent Resource Team and is a facilitator with the Family Caring Trust.

 Jean Christy

Jean Christy .RGN RHV (Chrysalis Associate)

Jean is a registered nurse and health visitor.  She’s lived and worked In the UK, Belgium and Germany gaining a wealth of valuable experience in hospitals and community health care.  After serving in the Health Service for many years, Jean  specialised in the area of parenting.  She became an accredited facilitator for Family Links, Tamba, Family Caring Trust and Positive Parenting.  Jean co-wrote a programme designed to make parenting more fulfilling and help during times of change in the family. 

Jean also works within the school setting providing clinical supervision sessions to help release emotional tension and restore a sense of balance after the pressures of the classroom. She is also currently working on activity teambuilding away-days.
